Who writes
the guides.

The microwave pages on this site are written by the crew that answers microwave calls in homes across the area. Each subject begins with what owners report when they book: a bowl of soup that comes out cold, blue flashes behind the door window, a turntable that sits still, a keypad that ignores every press, or a drawer front that stops halfway.

We write only about the microwaves we repair, and a code appears here only once its maker has printed it. When a line depends on the maker's documents, that document is linked beside it; when it rests on what our technicians have seen on calls, the page says so plainly.

Why a microwave sparks: stray metal, a spattered waveguide cover and a scarred cavity

How a guide
is written.

Four rules every guide on this site follows, from the first question to the last revision.

01

Started from what owners actually notice

Topics follow the words people use when they ask for a microwave visit, together with the safe checks worth trying first: a cup of water heated for one minute, the breaker and the outlet, the turntable seated on its coupler, the vent filters rinsed.

02

Measured against the maker's paperwork

Cutout sizes, mounting and venting, power ratings and what a display code means rest on the maker's printed manual or its installation sheet, and that document is linked next to the sentence that depends on it.

03

Sparks, fire and the high-voltage side

Every page repeats the same limits: stop a microwave that sparks, keep the door shut on anything burning inside while the breaker is switched off, and never open the outer cabinet, because a capacitor inside can hold a dangerous charge after unplugging.

04

Dated and kept current

Each microwave page shows when it was first posted and when it was last edited, and the edit date changes whenever a manual it relies on is revised.

Questions about
the guides.

Who writes the microwave guides on this site?
The technicians who take the microwave appointments booked here. What they find at the door, the turntable and the control panel is checked against the maker's own documents wherever those exist.
Is any microwave maker paying for these pages or checking them?
No. Our shop repairs microwaves independently, and no manufacturer funds this site or reads a microwave page before it is published.
I spotted an error in a microwave page. What should I do?
Write to us from the contact form, naming the microwave page and quoting the sentence that looks off. If we confirm the error, the text is corrected and the page's last-edited date is updated.
