What LOCK ON
actually means.
Wolf's control lock stops the microwave from being started by accident or by a child. On the drawer, drop-down door and speed oven models you set it with CONTROL LOCK and START, and the display confirms with LOCK ON; the same steps turn it off and show LOCK OFF.
Wolf microwave display · also shown as LOCK OFF, CHILD LOCK OFF
What to do when LOCK ON shows on the microwaveKind of codeMode, not a failure
Something was switched on rather than something wearing out: a child or control lock set by a long press on the wrong pad, after which no key answers, a demo or showroom setting that lights the display and turns the plate while nothing warms, a Sabbath setting that dims the panel and mutes the beeps, or a clock left blinking after an outage that holds the keypad until it is set. No part is needed; a key sequence from the manual switches it off again.
Usually leads toNo repair
Touch CONTROL LOCK, then START, and wait for LOCK OFF on the display.
Shows up asWhat a Microwave Error Code Is Telling You
A microwave error code may be a letter and a number on the display, a lock or demo word, a row of dashes, or a beep with a blinking clock, and it can show while the microwave still heats or block every key until it is cleared.

Wolf MD drawer, MDD drop-down door and SPO speed oven guides use CONTROL LOCK then START. The MS24 standard and MC24 convection side-swing models set it from SETTINGS and print CHILD LOCK OFF when it is released.
Before you book,
in this order.
Each step comes from Wolf's own guidance for LOCK ON on its microwaves. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.
Touch CONTROL LOCK, then START, and wait for LOCK OFF on the display.
On the 24-inch standard or convection side-swing models, touch SETTINGS, then START/QUICK ON, which shows CHILD LOCK OFF.
If the pads still ignore you after the lock is off, unplug or switch off the breaker for a minute and try again, then book a visit if nothing changes.
Cleared?
The code has gone and a mug of water heats again without a new part. If it comes back this week, or the food starts coming out cold in the middle, mention in the booking that it came back.
What not to do
LOCK ON is not a jammed drawer or a latched door; the lock only disables the control pads. A Wolf microwave whose pads do nothing and whose display shows no LOCK message has a different problem, usually with the control or the power supply.

Three details make the booking useful: the characters or beeps just as they appeared, every character of the model number, and whether a cup of water still warms up. With those, the technician arrives already halfway to the answer.
