What DEMO ON
actually means.
Wolf builds a demonstration mode into its microwaves so dealers can show the controls without microwave power. The timer runs, often much faster than normal, and the light and display work, but the magnetron is not used. A unit left in this mode after delivery looks like a microwave that has stopped heating.

What to do when DEMO ON shows on the microwaveKind of codeMode, not a failure
Something was switched on rather than something wearing out: a child or control lock set by a long press on the wrong pad, after which no key answers, a demo or showroom setting that lights the display and turns the plate while nothing warms, a Sabbath setting that dims the panel and mutes the beeps, or a clock left blinking after an outage that holds the keypad until it is set. No part is needed; a key sequence from the manual switches it off again.
Usually leads toNo repair
On the drawer, touch SETTINGS five times, then START, and look for DEMO OFF; the drop-down door and speed oven use a similar SETTINGS sequence printed in their own guides.
Shows up asWhat a Microwave Error Code Is Telling You
A microwave error code may be a letter and a number on the display, a lock or demo word, a row of dashes, or a beep with a blinking clock, and it can show while the microwave still heats or block every key until it is cleared.

The MD drawer guide uses SETTINGS five times then START, and the MDD drop-down door and SPO speed oven guides print their own SETTINGS sequence ending in DEMO ON. Wolf's showroom answer for the MW24, MWC24, MS24 and MC24 describes a clock-key sequence and the long message DEMO ON - DURING DEMO NO OVEN POWER.
Before you book,
in this order.
Each step comes from Wolf's own guidance for DEMO ON on its microwaves. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.
On the drawer, touch SETTINGS five times, then START, and look for DEMO OFF; the drop-down door and speed oven use a similar SETTINGS sequence printed in their own guides.
On the older MW24 and MWC24 or the MS24 and MC24, follow the clock-key steps in the guide for that model, or unplug the unit and plug it back in, which Wolf says also returns it to normal.
Heat a cup of water for one minute to prove the microwave warms again; if it still does not, book a visit.
Cleared?
The code has gone and a mug of water heats again without a new part. If it comes back this week, or the food starts coming out cold in the middle, mention in the booking that it came back.
What not to do
DEMO ON is not a failed magnetron, even though the food stays cold in the same way. It also does not explain a display that counts down at normal speed with no heat and no DEMO on the screen, which needs a technician.

In Wolf's own words
Micowave Drawers have a Showroom Mode to run displays and lighting without use of microwave elements.
Every code on this site is taken from the manufacturer's documentation, never from a forum or a parts listing. The MD drawer guide uses SETTINGS five times then START, and the MDD drop-down door and SPO speed oven guides print their own SETTINGS sequence ending in DEMO ON. Three details make the booking useful: the characters or beeps just as they appeared, every character of the model number, and whether a cup of water still warms up. With those, the technician arrives already halfway to the answer.
