Demo mode lets a Gaggenau combi-microwave show every function on a showroom floor without producing heat. To leave it, you briefly cut power at the breaker and then switch demo mode off in the basic settings within three minutes of power returning.

Switch off the household breaker for a moment, then switch it back on.
Within 3 minutes, open the basic settings and set demo mode to off.
If the display then shows Initialization, complete the initial start-up.
If the unit still does not heat with demo mode off, book a visit.

The code has gone and a mug of water heats again without a new part. If it comes back this week, or the food starts coming out cold in the middle, mention in the booking that it came back.
