What E300
actually means.

The BMP 250/251 runs on a 240-volt supply with two hot legs, L1 and L2. Gaggenau's manual gives E300 three causes: incorrect wiring at the connection point, L1 and L2 not being powered at the same moment, or a failure in the module combination, which is a service matter.

What to do when E300 shows on the microwave

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Gaggenau's own guidance for E300 on its microwaves. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Switch off the double-pole breaker for the unit.

02

Turn it back on in one motion so both legs come on together; do not switch individual poles.

03

If E300 remains, have a qualified electrician check the connection wiring, then book a visit if the wiring is correct.

Still there?

It usually turns into microwave diagnostic visit. Book with the code and the model number.

What not to do

E300 is not a magnetron or door problem, and it usually shows right after installation or electrical work. Owners should not open the junction box themselves; wiring is checked by a qualified person.

What you may
notice with it.

The microwave problems E300 tends to arrive with. Answer these at the microwave before anyone is booked.

Questions
about E300.

Can I clear E300 myself?
Switch off the double-pole breaker for the unit. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
Why did my Gaggenau show E300 right after a kitchen remodel?
Gaggenau ties E300 to wiring at first power-up or to the two supply legs coming on separately. New electrical work is exactly when that happens.
Can a single-pole breaker cause Gaggenau E300?
The appliance needs both L1 and L2 energized together, which a proper double-pole breaker does. Have an electrician confirm the circuit.
What if the wiring is right and E300 stays?
Gaggenau lists a module failure as the third cause, and that needs service. Book a visit and mention E300.

Three details make the booking useful: the characters or beeps just as they appeared, every character of the model number, and whether a cup of water still warms up. With those, the technician arrives already halfway to the answer.
