What to do when PF shows on the microwave

The microwave has noticed trouble with the power reaching it: an outage or a brownout that interrupted a cycle, a voltage too low for the magnetron to start, or a supply that dipped when something else on the circuit switched on. As often as not the cause is the circuit, the outlet in the cabinet above or the breaker rather than the unit; a main fuse that blows again after a reset points inside, where only a technician goes.

If PF keeps returning with no outage in the house, check that the plug is fully seated and that nothing else on the circuit trips it, then book a visit.

Press Cancel/Off (Clear/Off on the drawer) to clear PF. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
My GE Profile microwave shows PF every morning. Why?
Something is cutting the power overnight: a timer on the circuit, a breaker that trips under another load, or a loose connection. The microwave is only reporting it; the cause needs to be found on the supply side first.
Do I lose my settings when a GE Profile microwave shows PF?
The clock and any running program are lost. Once you clear PF, set the clock and start the program again.
Is it safe to use a GE Profile microwave right after PF?
Yes. Clear the display and use it as normal; PF says nothing about the heating parts.
