What Loc
actually means.

On the SKSMC2411S countertop microwave, holding STOP/Clear for about three seconds turns on Child Lock. While it is on, pressing any key only brings Loc to the display, and nothing starts until the lock is turned off.

What to do when Loc shows on the microwave

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from SKS's own guidance for Loc on its microwaves. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Press and hold STOP/Clear for about three seconds until Loc goes away.

02

Try a short heating time to confirm the keys respond again.

03

If Loc will not clear, unplug the microwave for a minute, plug it back in and try again; if that fails too, book a visit for the touch panel.

Cleared?

The code has gone and a mug of water heats again without a new part. If it comes back this week, or the food starts coming out cold in the middle, mention in the booking that it came back.

What not to do

Loc is not the separate 2-step door latch on this model, which is a mechanical child-resistant opening and does not use the display. It is also not a sign that the touch controls are broken.

What you may
notice with it.

The microwave problems Loc tends to arrive with. Answer these at the microwave before anyone is booked.

All problems

No repair indicated

Nothing to repair.

Something was switched on rather than something wearing out: a child or control lock set by a long press on the wrong pad, after which no key answers, a demo or showroom setting that lights the display and turns the plate while nothing warms, a Sabbath setting that dims the panel and mutes the beeps, or a clock left blinking after an outage that holds the keypad until it is set. No part is needed; a key sequence from the manual switches it off again.

In SKS's own words

If the oven is locked, Loc appears in the display when any key is pressed.

Questions
about Loc.

Can I clear Loc myself?
Press and hold STOP/Clear for about three seconds until Loc goes away.
How did Loc get turned on on my SKS countertop microwave?
A long press on STOP/Clear is all it takes, so a hand resting on that key while wiping the panel can switch it on. Hold the same key again to turn it off.
Does Loc also lock the door on the SKS countertop microwave?
No. Loc locks the keys. The door has its own optional 2-step opening, set with a mechanical lock button on the door.
My SKS countertop microwave shows Loc and the clock is gone. Is something wrong?
The manual says the time of day comes back about a second after the lock is set or cleared. If the clock stays blank after that, reset it; a display that stays dark needs a check.

Still showing Loc?

Three details make the booking useful: the characters or beeps just as they appeared, every character of the model number, and whether a cup of water still warms up. With those, the technician arrives already halfway to the answer.
