What HOT
actually means.

Café convection and speed microwaves bake and brown as well as heat. After those cycles the cavity stays above 200°F for a while, and the display shows HOT. Sensor cooking keys are refused until it cools; the CVM517 writes this out as OVEN TOO HOT FOR SENSOR COOKING and offers to cook by time.

What to do when HOT shows on the microwave

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Café's own guidance for HOT on its microwaves. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Leave the door open for a few minutes to let the cavity cool.

02

Cook by time if you need the microwave straight away.

03

Book a visit only if HOT shows when the microwave has not been used for hours.

Still there?

It usually turns into microwave control board and touchpad repair. Book with the code and the model number.

What not to do

HOT is normal and does not mean the microwave is overheating. It is also not a thermal cutout: the microwave will still cook by time while HOT is displayed.

What you may
notice with it.

The microwave problems HOT tends to arrive with. Answer these at the microwave before anyone is booked.

Questions
about HOT.

Can I clear HOT myself?
Leave the door open for a few minutes to let the cavity cool. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
Why does my Café microwave say HOT after I baked in it?
Baking leaves the cavity above 200°F. HOT stays up until it cools, and sensor keys wait until then.
Can I still cook while my Café microwave shows HOT?
Yes, by time. Only the sensor programs are blocked.
My Café microwave shows HOT when it is cold. What now?
That is not normal. Book a visit so the temperature sensing can be tested.

Still showing HOT?

Three details make the booking useful: the characters or beeps just as they appeared, every character of the model number, and whether a cup of water still warms up. With those, the technician arrives already halfway to the answer.
