What ERROR
actually means.

Sensor Reheat and the other sensor programs on the Bosch drawer finish by measuring the vapor that food releases. If the drawer is opened or Stop/Clear is touched during the first part of the program, or the food simply gives off too little vapor, the sensor reading fails and the display shows ERROR.

What to do when ERROR shows on the microwave

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Bosch's own guidance for ERROR on its microwaves. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Touch Stop/Clear and finish the dish with a set time and power level.

02

Next time, wait two minutes after the drawer is first powered before using a sensor setting.

03

Wipe moisture off the outside of the container and the cavity, and leave the drawer closed while the food name is showing.

04

If ERROR appears on every sensor program, book a visit to test the sensor.

Still there?

It usually turns into microwave control board and touchpad repair. Book with the code and the model number.

What not to do

ERROR is not a numbered error code and does not mean the magnetron has failed. Popcorn is the exception Bosch notes, so a popcorn run is not judged the same way.

What you may
notice with it.

The microwave problems ERROR tends to arrive with. Answer these at the microwave before anyone is booked.

Questions
about ERROR.

Can I clear ERROR myself?
Touch Stop/Clear and finish the dish with a set time and power level. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
Why does my Bosch drawer say ERROR on Sensor Reheat?
The sensor did not pick up enough vapor, often because the drawer was opened early or the food was very dry. Finish it manually.
Can I stir food while a Bosch sensor program runs?
Only after the remaining time appears. Opening the drawer while the food name is shown interrupts the reading.
Is Bosch ERROR the same as an E-code?
No. ERROR is a sensor-program message you clear with Stop/Clear; an E with a number is a malfunction code.

Still showing ERROR?

Three details make the booking useful: the characters or beeps just as they appeared, every character of the model number, and whether a cup of water still warms up. With those, the technician arrives already halfway to the answer.
