What C-10
actually means.

The DMO30U970S uses a gas sensor to judge how food is cooking and to adjust time and power on its automatic settings. C-10 is the information code Dacor gives when that sensor reads as either an open or a shorted circuit, so the control stops relying on it.

What to do when C-10 shows on the microwave

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Dacor's own guidance for C-10 on its microwaves. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Unplug the microwave, or switch off its breaker if the plug sits inside the cabinet above.

02

Wait a minute, restore power and try a plain timed cook to see whether C-10 comes back.

03

If it does, leave the unit off and book a visit; the sensor sits inside the outer case, which only a technician should open.

It usually turns into microwave control board and touchpad repair. Book with the code and the model number.

What not to do

C-10 does not mean the fan or the vent above the cooking surface has stopped. It is also not the touch-key codes C-F2 and C-d0, which concern the control panel.

What you may
notice with it.

The microwave problems C-10 tends to arrive with. Answer these at the microwave before anyone is booked.

Questions
about C-10.

Can I clear C-10 myself?
Unplug the microwave, or switch off its breaker if the plug sits inside the cabinet above. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
Can I still heat food on my Dacor slim microwave hood combination with C-10?
Dacor's action for C-10 is to unplug the oven and have it serviced, not to keep cooking. Treat it as out of use until the sensor is checked.
Where is the gas sensor on the Dacor DMO30U970S?
Inside the outer case, in the air path from the cavity. Reaching it means taking the unit apart near high-voltage parts, so it is a technician's job.
Why did C-10 show up after a steamy dish on my Dacor slim microwave?
Steam is what the sensor reads, so it is often the moment the problem is noticed. A working sensor handles steam; a code that returns afterwards points to the part or its wiring.

Three details make the booking useful: the characters or beeps just as they appeared, every character of the model number, and whether a cup of water still warms up. With those, the technician arrives already halfway to the answer.
