What LOCKED
actually means.

The MWD24XU sets its lock with a three-second hold on the lock key in standby; it beeps and shows LOCKED. A second three-second hold releases it. Smeg's OTR24XU and OTR316XU hood models use a long press on STOP/CLEAR for the same lock.

The lock is there to stop the unit being operated by children, so release it first and then press Open.
What if the drawer stops halfway when opening?
Pressing Open or Close while the drawer is moving stops it, and a second press starts it again. If it stops on its own, book a visit.
