What LOC
actually means.

Monogram microwaves carry a control lock so the glass touch panel can be wiped or kept away from children. While it is on, the display shows LOC on the ZEB1227, LOCKED on the ZWL1126 drawer, an L on the ZEB1226, and Control Panel LOCKED on the ZSA1202 speedcook oven.

What to do when LOC shows on the microwave

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Monogram's own guidance for LOC on its microwaves. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

On the ZEB1227, ZEB1226 and the drawer, hold Cancel/Off or Clear/Off for about 3 seconds.

02

On the ZSA1202 speedcook oven, hold CANCEL/OFF for about 5 seconds.

03

If the lock will not release, reset the breaker for 30 seconds before booking a visit.

Cleared?

The code has gone and a mug of water heats again without a new part. If it comes back this week, or the food starts coming out cold in the middle, mention in the booking that it came back.

What not to do

LOC is not a failed glass touch panel. On the Five-in-One ovens the screen lock is released with an Unlock icon instead.

What you may
notice with it.

The microwave problems LOC tends to arrive with. Answer these at the microwave before anyone is booked.

All problems

No repair indicated

Nothing to repair.

Something was switched on rather than something wearing out: a child or control lock set by a long press on the wrong pad, after which no key answers, a demo or showroom setting that lights the display and turns the plate while nothing warms, a Sabbath setting that dims the panel and mutes the beeps, or a clock left blinking after an outage that holds the keypad until it is set. No part is needed; a key sequence from the manual switches it off again.

In Monogram's own words

The control panel has been locked. (When the control panel is locked, “LOC” will be displayed.)

Questions
about LOC.

Can I clear LOC myself?
On the ZEB1227, ZEB1226 and the drawer, hold Cancel/Off or Clear/Off for about 3 seconds.
Why won't my Monogram speedcook oven unlock with a 3-second hold?
The ZSA1202 needs about 5 seconds on CANCEL/OFF, longer than Monogram's other microwaves.
What does a single L mean on my Monogram countertop microwave?
On the ZEB1226 an L is how the display shows the lock. Hold Cancel/Off for about 3 seconds.
Does locking the Monogram drawer stop it from heating?
It stops the keys from starting anything; unlock it and it works normally.

Still showing LOC?

Three details make the booking useful: the characters or beeps just as they appeared, every character of the model number, and whether a cup of water still warms up. With those, the technician arrives already halfway to the answer.
