What F3T3
actually means.

A JennAir hood combination keeps watch on the heat coming up from the cooking surface below with its own thermistor. F3T3 means that sensor or its wiring is out of range, so the automatic fan response to rising heat cannot be trusted.

What to do when F3T3 shows on the microwave

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from JennAir's own guidance for F3T3 on its microwaves. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Turn the microwave off at the circuit breaker, count a full minute, then restore power.

02

Give it a minute on standby; a code that does not reappear was likely a one-time glitch, so run a short cycle to confirm.

03

Run the vent fan manually while you cook below until the repair.

04

If F3T3 comes back, book a visit to test the thermistor.

What not to do

F3T3 does not mean the vent fan motor has failed. It also has nothing to do with the magnetron or the door switches.

What you may
notice with it.

The microwave problems F3T3 tends to arrive with. Answer these at the microwave before anyone is booked.

Every code on this site is taken from the manufacturer's documentation, never from a forum or a parts listing. From JennAir's help pages for its microwave hood combinations (Euro-style, including the convection models). The code set varies with the control generation, so a code missing from your model's manual may not apply to it.

Questions
about F3T3.

Can I clear F3T3 myself?
Turn the microwave off at the circuit breaker, count a full minute, then restore power. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
Why does my JennAir fan no longer come on by itself?
Automatic fan response relies on the hood temperature sensor. With F3T3 showing, that reading is not usable.
Can I cook below a JennAir showing F3T3?
Yes, but switch the vent fan on yourself so heat and steam are drawn away.
Is F3T3 on JennAir an expensive repair?
It is usually a sensor or a connector, not a board. The technician confirms with a resistance check.

Three details make the booking useful: the characters or beeps just as they appeared, every character of the model number, and whether a cup of water still warms up. With those, the technician arrives already halfway to the answer.
