Miele's system lock stops a cooking process from being started by accident. When the appliance is switched on with the lock active, the display asks you to hold OK, or the lock symbol on a speed oven, for six seconds. That unlocks it for one cooking process; the setting itself stays on until you change it. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Touch and hold OK, or the lock symbol on a speed oven, for at least 6 seconds. 02 To end the lock for good, choose Safety, then System lock, then Off in the settings menu. 03 If holding the key for longer than 6 seconds does nothing, restart the appliance with the On/Off button and book a visit if the controls stay unresponsive. ### Cleared? The code has gone and a mug of water heats again without a new part. If it comes back this week, or the food starts coming out cold in the middle, mention in the booking that it came back. ### What not to do The system lock is not a door lock and does not keep the door shut.
