When the supply drops for a moment and comes back, Miele's microwave and speed ovens remember that it happened and show the message. The cooking process that was running does not resume by itself, so food may be only partly heated. Miele microwave display · also shown as Power failure What to do when Power Failure shows on the microwave ### Kind of code Power and supply The microwave has noticed trouble with the power reaching it: an outage or a brownout that interrupted a cycle, a voltage too low for the magnetron to start, or a supply that dipped when something else on the circuit switched on. As often as not the cause is the circuit, the outlet in the cabinet above or the breaker rather than the unit; a main fuse that blows again after a reset points inside, where only a technician goes. ### Usually leads to Microwave diagnostic visit A visit that times a cup of water against the clock, checks the door and its switches, then tests the high-voltage section, the controls and the moving parts one at a time until a single part is named. ### Shows up as What a Microwave Error Code Is Telling You A microwave error code may be a letter and a number on the display, a lock or demo word, a row of dashes, or a beep with a blinking clock, and it can show while the microwave still heats or block every key until it is cleared. ### Make Miele Miele microwaves and speed units checked at eye level in your kitchen, starting from the message on the display and the mode in use. ### Source Miele M 7240 TC microwave oven operating and installation instructions M 7240 TC shows Power Failure; the H 7840 BM, H 7770 BM and H 7870 BM speed ovens show a longer Power failure message saying the program was stopped. ## Before you book, in this order. Each step comes from Miele's own guidance for Power Failure on its microwaves. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Switch the appliance off and on again. 02 Check the food and restart the cooking process from the beginning. 03 If Power Failure appears without any outage in the house, check whether the breaker is tripping and book a visit to look at the supply. ### Still there? It usually turns into [microwave diagnostic visit](https://microwaverepair.center/services/diagnostic-visit/). Book with the code and the model number. ### What not to do Power Failure is not the same as 12:00 on the display, which Miele uses when power has been off for more than 150 hours. It does not mean the appliance itself switched off from overheating, which happens silently when the vents are blocked. ## What you may notice with it. Switch the appliance off and on again. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### Is my food safe after Power Failure shows on my Miele microwave? The cooking stopped when power dropped, so the food may be underheated. Check its temperature and heat it again from the start. ### My Miele speed oven says Power failure but my lights never went off. Why? A dip too short to notice on the lights can still reset the electronics. If it keeps happening, the circuit feeding the speed oven should be checked. ### Do I need to reset the clock on my Miele after a Power Failure message? After a brief outage the time is usually kept. Only a long outage, over 150 hours, brings up 12:00. --- **[Read on the site: Miele Power Failure: a short outage stopped the microwave's cooking process](https://microwaverepair.center/error-codes/miele-power-failure/)** **[Book a visit with MicrowaveRepair.center](https://microwaverepair.center/schedule/)**
