Miele builds a Showroom Program into its speed ovens so dealers can show the display without heating the cavity. If it is left on after installation, the speed oven looks alive and accepts every setting yet never warms food, by microwave or by convection. Miele microwave display · also shown as Showroom Program What to do when Demo Mode shows on the microwave ### Kind of code Mode, not a failure Something was switched on rather than something wearing out: a child or control lock set by a long press on the wrong pad, after which no key answers, a demo or showroom setting that lights the display and turns the plate while nothing warms, a Sabbath setting that dims the panel and mutes the beeps, or a clock left blinking after an outage that holds the keypad until it is set. No part is needed; a key sequence from the manual switches it off again. ### Usually leads to No repair Open Settings, then Showroom Program, then Demo Mode, and choose Off. ### Shows up as What a Microwave Error Code Is Telling You A microwave error code may be a letter and a number on the display, a lock or demo word, a row of dashes, or a beep with a blinking clock, and it can show while the microwave still heats or block every key until it is cleared. ### Make Miele Miele microwaves and speed units checked at eye level in your kitchen, starting from the message on the display and the mode in use. ### Source Miele speed oven operating and installation instructions (H 7840 BM, H 7770 BM, H 7870 BM) Miele H 7840 BM, H 7770 BM and H 7870 BM speed ovens (Settings, Showroom Program). ## Before you book, in this order. Each step comes from Miele's own guidance for Demo Mode on its microwaves. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Open Settings, then Showroom Program, then Demo Mode, and choose Off. 02 Heat a cup of water with microwave power to confirm heat returns. 03 If Demo Mode is already off and the speed oven still does not heat, book a visit. ### Cleared? The code has gone and a mug of water heats again without a new part. If it comes back this week, or the food starts coming out cold in the middle, mention in the booking that it came back. ### What not to do Demo Mode is not a failed magnetron or heating element. It is also not the system lock, which prevents starting a process at all rather than letting it run cold. ## What you may notice with it. The microwave problems Demo Mode tends to arrive with. Open Settings, then Showroom Program, then Demo Mode, and choose Off. ### My new Miele speed oven lights up but food stays cold. Where do I look first? Check Settings, Showroom Program. A speed oven delivered with Demo Mode on behaves exactly like that. ### Does Demo Mode on a Miele speed oven affect the microwave and the convection side? Miele says the heating does not work in Demo Mode, which covers both. Turning it off restores both. ### Can Demo Mode switch on by itself on a Miele speed oven? It is set from a menu, so it is normally left on from display or setup. If it keeps returning after you switch it off, book a visit. --- **[Read on the site: Miele Demo Mode: the speed oven's menus work but it will not heat](https://microwaverepair.center/error-codes/miele-demo-mode/)** **[Book a visit with MicrowaveRepair.center](https://microwaverepair.center/schedule/)**
