With it active, key presses are simply refused; the drawer models go further and block the start command entirely. JennAir microwave display · also shown as L, Padlock icon What to do when LOC shows on the microwave ### Kind of code Mode, not a failure Something was switched on rather than something wearing out: a child or control lock set by a long press on the wrong pad, after which no key answers, a demo or showroom setting that lights the display and turns the plate while nothing warms, a Sabbath setting that dims the panel and mutes the beeps, or a clock left blinking after an outage that holds the keypad until it is set. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 On a hood combination, press and hold Cancel for 3 seconds; on some controls the hold is on Start for 5 seconds. 02 On a JennAir microwave drawer, press and hold the Control Lock key for 3 seconds. 03 If the lock indicator will not clear with either method, book a visit so the touch panel can be checked. ### Cleared? The code has gone and a mug of water heats again without a new part. If it comes back this week, or the food starts coming out cold in the middle, mention in the booking that it came back. ### What not to do LOC is a setting you can turn off, not a sign that a part has failed. On a hood combination, press and hold Cancel for 3 seconds; on some controls the hold is on Start for 5 seconds. ### Why won't my JennAir microwave drawer open or start? Control Lock is a common reason: with it on, the drawer ignores commands. Hold the Control Lock key for 3 seconds and try again. ### Which key unlocks a JennAir hood combination? JennAir lists two methods depending on the control: a 3-second hold on Cancel or a 5-second hold on Start. Try Cancel first. ### Can a power outage turn on the JennAir lock? A lock that appears by itself is usually the result of a long press while cleaning.
