Dacor's countertop and drawer microwaves include a demonstration setting for showrooms. Cooking operations can be shown on the display, but the magnetron stays off, so a unit delivered or left in that state never warms food. Dacor microwave display · also shown as DEMO ON DURING DEMO NO OVEN POWER, DEMO ON? What to do when DEMO ON shows on the microwave ### Kind of code Mode, not a failure Something was switched on rather than something wearing out: a child or control lock set by a long press on the wrong pad, after which no key answers, a demo or showroom setting that lights the display and turns the plate while nothing warms, a Sabbath setting that dims the panel and mutes the beeps, or a clock left blinking after an outage that holds the keypad until it is set. No part is needed; a key sequence from the manual switches it off again. ### Usually leads to No repair On the DMW2420S, touch TIMER/CLOCK, the number 0 and STOP/CLEAR, or unplug it from the outlet and plug it back in. ### Shows up as What a Microwave Error Code Is Telling You A microwave error code may be a letter and a number on the display, a lock or demo word, a row of dashes, or a beep with a blinking clock, and it can show while the microwave still heats or block every key until it is cleared. ### Make Dacor Dacor microwave visits start with the story of the last cook: what was inside, how long it ran and what the door window showed. ### Source Dacor DMW2420S 24-inch microwave use and care manual Dacor DMW2420S countertop microwave prints DEMO ON DURING DEMO NO OVEN POWER; the DMR24M977 drawer prompts DEMO ON? HOLD START 3 SEC before showing DEMO ON. ## Before you book, in this order. Each step comes from Dacor's own guidance for DEMO ON on its microwaves. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 On the DMW2420S, touch TIMER/CLOCK, the number 0 and STOP/CLEAR, or unplug it from the outlet and plug it back in. 02 On the Microwave-In-A-Drawer, touch SETUP/HELP five times until DEMO OFF ? TOUCH START appears, then touch START/EASY MINUTE. 03 Heat a cup of water for a minute; if it stays cold with no DEMO on the display, book a visit. ### Cleared? The code has gone and a mug of water heats again without a new part. If it comes back this week, or the food starts coming out cold in the middle, mention in the booking that it came back. ### What not to do DEMO ON is not a burned-out magnetron or blown fuse. Once demo is off, a microwave that still does not heat has a separate problem worth a visit. ## What you may notice with it. The microwave problems DEMO ON tends to arrive with. On the DMW2420S, touch TIMER/CLOCK, the number 0 and STOP/CLEAR, or unplug it from the outlet and plug it back in. ### My Dacor drawer lights and beeps but food stays cold. Could it be demo? Check the display for DEMO. A drawer in demonstration mode goes through the motions without any microwave power. ### How did my Dacor countertop microwave end up in demo mode? The sequence uses TIMER/CLOCK, 0 and a three-second hold on START, which can happen by accident while setting the clock. ### Will demo mode damage my Dacor microwave? No. It only disables heating. Turn it off and the unit cooks as normal. --- **[Read on the site: Dacor DEMO ON: showroom mode keeps the microwave from heating](https://microwaverepair.center/error-codes/dacor-demo-on/)** **[Book a visit with MicrowaveRepair.center](https://microwaverepair.center/schedule/)**
